How To Fix The Oven On A Gas Stove
The gas valve controls the flow of gas into the burner, so it’s important to keep this part clean and working properly. If you’re having trouble getting the gas flowing smoothly, try cleaning the valve first.
Check the Pilot Light.
check the pilot light. This is the small flame at the bottom of the stove that keeps the main burner lit. It should burn steadily without flickering. If it does not, replace the pilot light bulb.
Is it Leaking Gas?
Now, turn off the gas supply valve. Then, open the oven door and remove the top panel. Look for any leaks. If there are no leaks, then you need to repair the pilot light.
Stove Fan Repair - How To Fix A Stove Fan
Stove fans are an important part of any kitchen. They keep food warm and prevent smoke from building up in the oven. If your stove fan stops working, however, you may need to replace it. We offer professional appliance repairs in Musgrave.
Check the Motor First.
Before you start trying to fix your stove fan, make sure that the motor is not broken. You should be able to turn the fan on and off with a switch located near the front of the stove. If you cannot find the switch, check the back of the stove where there will likely be a small hole. This hole allows air into the stove so that it does not become too hot.
Look for Loose Parts.
Once you have found the switch, you need to locate the part that controls the fan. It will probably be attached to a metal bracket that holds the fan blades. You can use a screwdriver to remove the screws holding the bracket together. Then, you can pull out the bracket and take apart the fan.
Clean the Blades.
If you find that the fan has stopped spinning, you should clean the blades first. This will help prevent any further damage to the fan. Remove the cover plate from the back of the stove. Then, turn off the gas supply valve. Next, unscrew the two bolts that hold the fan assembly in place. Finally, remove the fan assembly and clean the blades with a soft cloth.
Replace the Blade Springs.
Once you have cleaned the blades, replace them with new blade springs. You can purchase these at home improvement stores. Make sure that you use the correct size spring for your stove. Also, make sure that the fan blades are properly aligned before replacing the springs.
Test the Motor.
If you still need help, take the stove apart and test the motor. This will tell you whether there is something wrong with the fan itself. If so, you should contact an appliance repairman.
