Smeg dishwasher FAQS

How do I unclog the filter in my Smeg dishwasher?

Easy! Find  the filter at the bottom of your dishwasher. Twist counterclockwise to remove and rinse thoroughly under running water. Clear debris will help water flow freely.

Usually connected to your sink’s drain pipe or garbage disposal, carefully disconnect the hose and check for kinks or blockages. A straightened object like a coat hanger  can gently poke through the hose to clear minor obstructions.

Alright, let’s tackle  your dishwasher dilemma together. It seems your Smeg dishwasher is a bit stuck in the draining phase, but don’t stress  we’ll get it back on track in no time!

First, let’s try a simple reset

  • Power off the dishwasher at the main switch, and if possible, unplug it from the wall outlet.
  • Give it a short break, say a minute or two, then plug it back in and power it on.

If the reset doesn’t work, let’s check for any obstructions:

  • Carefully open the dishwasher door and remove the bottom rack to access the filter and drain area.
  • Locate and remove the filter (usually at the back of the tub).
  • Thoroughly clean the filter, removing any debris or food particles.
  • Inspect the drain area for any visible blockages and carefully remove them if present.

Once the filter and drain are clear, attempt a short wash cycle:

  • Select a short wash cycle on your Smeg dishwasher.
  • Close the door and start the dishwasher.
