Dryer not getting hot
The first step to diagnose the problem is to make sure that your tumble dryer is plugged into a working electrical outlet. If the outlet has no power, simply switch off the circuit breaker for a few minutes and then turn it back on. When you attempt to run your dryer again, test it by running an appliance with a light or digital display as these devices will quickly show if there’s still no power.
If the electric outlet is working properly, the next step is to check for other issues. Start by inspecting the dryer’s thermal fuse and breaker located on the back of the appliance. To do this, turn off the power to your tumble dryer and remove its back panel. On some models there will be a manual reset button near these parts. Push this button a few times to reset any trips that may have occurred. Now replace the panel and restart your appliance to see if it starts getting hot again.
The next step is to inspect the lint filter and vice vent hose. If these are blocked by lint or other residue, the air will not enter the drum of your tumble dryer and it won’t get hot. So check both these parts for blockage then clear any debris. Finally, make sure the vice vent hose is connected securely to both the output port of your dryer and the intake port on your wall. When finished, restart the appliance and see if it’s working properly again.
