Appliance repair Man
The first step to fixing a noisy freezer fan is to identify the source of the noise. In many cases, it’s the fan blades rubbing against something, like dust or ice buildup. To determine this, carefully open up your freezer and inspect the fan and its components for signs of damage or foreign objects. If you see any visible signs of wear or an object that looks out of place, remove it before continuing with repairs.
To begin repairs, make sure the power supply to your freezer is disconnected. Next, gently remove the fan and motor assembly from the freezer, noting how it’s connected and which components are involved. Carefully disconnect the wiring and screws that are holding the fan assembly in place to ensure a safe and successful repair. Depending on the condition of your freezer, you may need additional tools or supplies for this step.
With the fan and motor assembly free, you can use a multimeter to test if each of the winding is working. Turn your multimeter dial to resistance (Ω) mode, connecting one lead to one end of the winding and then testing with the other lead. Make sure you set your multimeter on a low resistance range in order to get an accurate reading. If readings below 5 ohms are seen – then there is no open circuit in the windings, which means they are functioning correctly.
