The first step in diagnosing and repairing your Whirlpool refrigerator’s fan is to perform a visual inspection. Take off the kickplate on the bottom and check for any damage or obstructions inside the fan blades. If you find anything, carefully remove it and ensure nothing else has been blocking the fan.

Once you’ve inspected the fan blades, check the fan motor and any wiring connected to it. Make sure there are no loose or frayed wires, corrosion, and that the connections are properly attached with a wing nut. Be sure to wipe off any excess lubricant afterwards and test the door to make sure it’s sealing properly.
