Why Is My Fridge Overheating?
A malfunctioning thermostat could cause your refrigerator to overheat. Check if yours needs replacing!
To check whether your fridge has a faulty thermostat, open the door and look inside. You’ll see a small plastic box with wires coming out of it. This is the thermostat. It’s usually located near the back of the fridge.
If the temperature settings aren’t set correctly, the fridge will run longer than necessary, causing it to overheat.
It’s easy to replace the thermostat with a new one. Just follow these steps: 1) Unplug the old thermostat 2) Remove the cover 3) Disconnect the wires 4) Pull out the old thermostat 5) Plug in the new thermostat 6) Put the cover back on 7) Turn the power switch on 8) Wait until the new thermostat has cooled down 9) Connect the wires 10) Turn the power switch off 11) Test the thermostat 12) Enjoy your new fridge!
