Washing Machine Repair How To Test The Water Level Switch

The water level switch in a washing machine is located at the bottom of the washer tub. It controls the flow of water into the machine.

If you find that the water level switch is stuck, then you should stop using the washing machine immediately. Otherwise, you might damage the machine.
First, turn off the power supply. Then, remove the plug from the wall socket. After that, disconnect the wires connected to the washer. Finally, open the door of the washing machine. Call our expert washing machine repairs man today!
Now, take out the water tank. It will be easier to access if you remove the front cover first. Next, remove the screws holding the top cover. After that, lift up the top cover. Now, pull out the water tank.
If there is no water coming out of the drain hose, then check whether the drain valve is open or closed. Open the drain valve by turning it clockwise. Then, turn off the power supply switch. Check whether the water level indicator light comes on. If it does, then the water level is low.
Turn off the power supply switch first. Then, disconnect the hoses one by one. Remove the cover of the washer. Look at the bottom of the washer. There should be two rubber tubes connected with each other. One tube goes into the drain hose. The other tube connects to the water tank.

A washing machine water level sensor is an important component of your washer. It helps keep your clothes clean by stopping the cycle when there isn’t enough water.

If your washing machine has a water level sensor, then it’s very likely that it’s broken at some point. You’ll need to remove the cover plate to access the sensor. Once you’ve done so, check the wires and connections to make sure everything looks good. Then, use a multimeter to test the resistance between the two terminals. If the resistance is too high, then you’ll need to replace the sensor.

To remove the top panel, first disconnect the power cord. Then, unscrew the four screws holding the panel in place. Finally, lift off the panel.

If you’re having trouble installing the sensor, check out our guide on how to replace a washing machine’s water level sensor.

Once the panel is removed, you’ll see two wires connected to the motor. Remove these wires as well. Now, take the new sensor out of its packaging and install it into the hole where the old one used to go. Make sure the sensor is facing up and that the black wire is touching the metal tab at the bottom of the hole.
